New master’s in sport management

Tammy CrawfordWSU plans to launch an online master’s degree in sport management this spring.

The degree “gives students entering the field a big advantage when seeking employment,” said Tammy Crawford, above, a clinical assistant professor at WSU’s College of Education.

WSU scholarship application available

moneycomputerThe 2012-2013 WSU Academic Scholarship Application is now available at this link. All students are eligible to complete this application to apply for the more than 700 scholarship programs throughout the university. The deadline for the application is January 31, 2012.

Earn three credits in three weeks

This hasn’t been officially announced yet, but WSU is offering Winter Session for the second time this year, and it will now be open to WSU Online students.

Winter Session, Dec. 19-Jan. 6, lets you earn three credits in an intense three weeks by taking one online course. Registration opens Nov. 7, and you can get a preliminary look at the 12 courses being offered by going to the website.

WSU Online party to draw big crowd

seattleThe invitation went out 48 hours ago, but more than 50 people have already signed up for WSU Online’s pregame party in Seattle on October 22.

The party includes free food, socializing, and the chance to give Butch T. Cougar a high-five. It will be held just before the Cougs battle Oregon State on CenturyLink Field. The exact time depends on when the game is scheduled.

The party is at the Silver Cloud Hotel Seattle-Stadium, 1046 First Ave South. For tickets, go to the athletics website.
