Collective effort

Blackboard's purchase of Angel, a rival learning management system, has some administrators comparing it to Star Trek characters who assimilate everyone in their path. Has "Blackborg" gone too far? Does it really matter to students? Have a look and let us know what you think.

  1. Students care. Trust me. Ask them. They dislike Blackboard - hate it, actually. They talk about how hard it is to use, how their teachers rarely use it, and how it always seems to crash when they are taking a test.

  2. I'm really surprised WSU fell into it again. WSU should have learned from the blackboard mistake. I'm sure Moodle or Sakai were looked at but the IT staff were too unfamiliar with OpenSource software and it was booted out.

Did anyone even look at Google Apps for educational institutions? Here we are back in Blackboards crummy world. Very disappointing.
